The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA previously published a Final Rule on the “Unlicensed Use of the 6 GHz Band; and Expanding Flexible Use in Mid-Band Spectrum Between 3.7 and 24 GHz” on January 8, 2024. The FCC has issued a Correction to the Final Rule on February 6, 2024. The correction states that “All U-NII transmitters, except for standard power access points and fixed client devices, operating in the 5.925-7.125 GHz band must employ a contention-based protocol.”
