Brazil ANATEL Opens Public Consultation 47

The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil has opened Public Consultation No. 47 on September 8, 2021. The purpose of this consultation is to improve testing procedures for technical conformity assessment of cell phone chargers by creating a new Act to replace Act 3481. The consultation may be accessed at the following link, and will be open for comments until November 7, 2021. Argentina

Argentina ENACOM to Require Local Testing for GSM/WCDMA Devices

Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM) in Argentina has accredited a second lab for testing the ENACOM-Q2-61.03 standard for GSM/WCDMA devices. Now that at least 2 labs have been accredited, local testing will be mandatory effective February 23, 2022. Please contact your Approve-IT project manager for more information.

Argentina

Argentina ENACOM Enforces Medical Devices Standard

Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM) in Argentina has published Resolución 1248/2021 on September 1, 2021, in which one lab has been accredited to test the ENACOM-Q2-60.15 V19.1 Medical Devices standard. Previously, ENACOM allowed manufacturers to approve these medical devices using a DoC. ENACOM will continue to accept DoCs until March 1, 2022, at which point local testing will be mandatory. Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia CITC Opens Public Consultation on Spectrum Light Licensing

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) of Saudi Arabia opened a public consultation on August 22, 2021 regarding Spectrum Light Licensing. The objective of the consultation is to facilitate the shared use of spectrum, and improve access to more than 13 GHz of spectrum. The consultation may be accessed at this link and it will be open for comments until September 30, 2021. Afghanistan ATRA Type Approvals On Hold

Due to the political situation in Afghanistan, staff members at Afghanistan Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA) are confined to their homes and type approvals are currently on hold. Approve-IT will continue to monitor the situation and communicate updates accordingly.

Mexico

Mexico SE Publishes NMX-I-62368-1-NYCE-2020

The Secretaría de Economía (SE) of Mexico has published “Declaration of Validity of Mexican Standard NMX-I-62368-1-NYCE-2020” on August 25, 2021. This standard is related to security requirements for electronics, electronic equipment, video equipment, and information and communication technologies. The Declaration will enter into force on August 25, 2022, at which point it will cancel the standard NMX-I -62368-1-NYCE-2015.
