Samoa

Samoa Administration Issues Label Requirement for Type Approval Equipment

The Administration of Samoa approved Order of the Regulator No. 2021/T02 requiring manufacturers and importers to label telecommunications equipment with the Samoa compliance mark upon receiving a Type Approval Certificate from the Office of the Regulator. Brazil

Brazil ANATEL Act 77 Comes Into Force

The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil issued Act 77 in January 2021 and it now in effect. Act 77 established cybersecurity requirements for products with Internet connection, and it is now mandatory for manufacturers of equipment and the local applicant to submit a declaration letter for ANATEL’s review and provide cybersecurity support to users as needed. The letter must declare that the device meets basic cybersecurity requirements as defined in Act 77. For more details, please contact your Approve-IT project manager

Egypt

Egypt NTRA Releases Updated NFAT and Radio Spectrum Guidelines

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt released updated National Frequency Allocations Table and Guidelines for Short Range Devices (SRDs) in June 2021. The Guidelines for SRDs replace the previous guidelines issued in December 2020. NTRA has also issued new Guidelines for Private Mobile Radio (PMR), and Aeronautical and Maritime radio systems. Colombia

Colombia ANE Opens Public Consultation to Update NFAT

The Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE) of Colombia has opened a public consultation regarding the Draft Resolution “By which Resolution 105 of 2020 is modified and the National Frequency Allocation Table (CNABF).” This Draft Resolution proposes to increase unlicensed spectrum by adding the 169 MHz frequency band for wireless and remote control communications. The public consultation is open and will receive comments until July 15, 2021.

Malaysia MCMC Releases Class Assignment No. 1 of 2021

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has released Class Assignment No. 1 of 2021. These Class Assignments came into effect on June 9, 2021, and revoke Class Assignment No. 1 of 2020. There are no major changes at this time. Mexico

Mexico IFT Issues new PEC Requirements

The Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) in Mexico has issued new requirements for the Conformity Assessment Procedures (CAP) for Telecommunications and Broadcasting, also known as the PEC process. In the near future, IFT will not accept applications without the following statements appearing in manuals.
