Burkina Faso ARCEP Resumes Activities

UPDATE: ARCEP resumed activities on January 26, 2022. On January 24, 2022, the president of Burkina Faso resigned from his post due to a military coup in the capital Ouagadougou. The Autorité de Regulation des Communications Électroniques et des Postes (ARCEP) of Burkina Faso, closed on January 24, 2022, but resumed activities on January 26, 2022. Please be advised that the type approval process in Burkina Faso could be impacted. Approve-IT will continue to monitor the situation and communicate updates accordingly.

Vietnam Issues Decree 111/2021/ND-CP

The Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 111/2021/ND-CP on December 10, 2021, which amends articles of Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP, “on goods labeling.” Appendix I states that telecommunications equipment, information technology, network information security, electronics, and renewed and refurbished information technology products are required to display the following on their labels.

Vietnam MIC Issues Circular 29/2021/TT-BTTTT

The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam has issued Circular No. 29/2021/TT-BTTTT, “Planning the Band of 2300-2400 MHz for Vietnam’s IMT Mobile Communication System,” on December 31, 2021. The Circular plans the 2300-2400 MHz frequency band to deploy mobile communication systems according to IMT-Advanced standards and subsequent versions, and it applies to organizations, enterprises, and individuals that manufacture, import, trade, and use radio equipment in Vietnam.

Brazil ANATEL Opens Public Consultation No. 1/2022

The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil has opened Public Consultation No. 1 on January 11, 2022, proposing a public consultation on updating technical requirements for conformity assessment of Optical Network Terminal (ONT), Optical Line Terminal (OLT), and Optical Network Unit (ONU) equipment for optical fiber networks with passive network standards GPON, XGPON, and XGSPON. The Consultation may be accessed here and will receive comments until March 11, 2022. Please contact your Approve-IT project manager for more information or for support submitting comments.
