Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) in Chile has published Resolución 1321 Exenta on July 27, 2021, updating Resolución 1985 Exenta, the Fixed Technical Standard for Short Range Devices. These updates seek to better harmonize the regulation to international standards.
The following Articles were updated:
- Article 1 – Item H – The frequency band 13553-13567 kHz and its corresponding maximum electric field intensity (20 mV/m at 30 meters) were added to the list. regarding equipment used for medical applications.
- Article 1 – Item J.1 – “17 mW/MHz” was replaced with “17 dBm/MHz”.
- Article 1 – Item J.1 – Access Points (AP) using internal batteries may operate outdoors in the 5925-7125 MHz frequency band with a maximum EIRP of 17 dBm.
Article 4 – Non-compliance with Resolución 1985 will be sanctioned according to the statements defined in Title VII of the General Law of Telecommunications No. 18,168.
