Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) in Chile issued Resolution 1807 on October 22, 2020 effective immediately.  The major changes with this new regulation are summarized below:

  • The output power limit for the 5.150-5.250GHz band has been increased from max EIRP 250mW to max EIRP 1W (30dBm) with max PSD of 17mW/MHz and restricted to indoor use
  • The 5.9-7.1GHz band has been opened for use by Access Points with the following conditions:
    • Maximum EIRP of 1W (30dBm)
    • Maximum spectral density of 5 dBm / MHz
    • APs using this band are allowed for indoor use only
    • APs using this band must have internal antennas and cannot use external or removable antennas
    • APs using this band cannot use internal batteries or have spaces for their installation
    • Terminal equipment used with Access Point systems can operate in 5.9-7.1GHz up to max EIRP 250mW (24dBm), max PSD -1dBm/MHz
  • For Type Approval applications, test reports must have one laboratory international accreditation mark (previously the requirement was two international accreditation marks)
