Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) in Chile issued Resolution 1807 on October 22, 2020 effective immediately. The major changes with this new regulation are summarized below:
- The output power limit for the 5.150-5.250 GHz band has been increased from max EIRP 250 mW to max EIRP 1 W (30 dBm) with max PSD of 17 mW/MHz and restricted to indoor use
- The 5.9-7.1 GHz band has been opened for use by Access Points with the following conditions:
- Maximum EIRP of 1 W (30 dBm)
- Maximum spectral density of 5 dBm / MHz
- APs using this band are allowed for indoor use only
- APs using this band must have internal antennas and cannot use external or removable antennas
- APs using this band cannot use internal batteries or have spaces for their installation
- Terminal equipment used with Access Point systems can operate in 5.9-7.1 GHz up to max EIRP 250 mW (24 dBm), max PSD -1 dBm/MHz
- For Type Approval applications, test reports must have one laboratory international accreditation mark (previously the requirement was two international accreditation marks)
