The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in Canada has opened a public consultation on Radio Standards Specification RSS-139, Issue 4, “Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) Equipment Operating in the Bands 1710-1780 MHz and 2110-2200 MHz,” which would replace RSS-139, Issue 3, “Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) Equipment Operating in the Bands 1710-1780 MHz and 2110-2180 MHz.” Main changes to the Issue include the following:
- Adding 2180-2200 MHz to the standard and updating the title to reflect the change.
- Removing Mobile Equipment Identifier and International Mobile Equipment Identity requirements since they are no longer required.
- Incorporating requirements previously contained in SRSP-513 and SRSP-519.
- Modernizing the Issue to reflect current Radio Standard Specification structure.
