The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil has opened the following three public consultations:

  • Public Consultation No. 35: Proposal for an Act to define the technical and operational requirements for the use of the 1427 MHz to 1517 MHz band for use by stations of Personal Mobile Service (SMP), Switched Fixed Telephone Service (STFC), Multimedia Communication Service (SCM), and Private Limited Service (SLP). The public consultation is open and will receive comments until September 1, 2021.
  • Public Consultation No. 37: Public Consultation to update requirements on the evaluation of technical conformity of Cellular Mobile Telephone with the goal of: 
    • including test parameters for 5G equipment operating in millimeter waves ( Frequency Range 2: 24.25-52.6 GHz); 
    • updating normative references to the requirements for version 16.6.0 of the 3GPP release 16;
    • and implementing measures that guarantee the enjoyment of sound broadcasting service in modulated frequency (FM) in Personal Mobile Service (SMP) access terminals.
    • The public consultation is open and will receive comments until September 25, 2021.
  • Public Consultation No. 38: Public Consultation to update requirements on the evaluation of technical conformity of the Access Terminal Station (ETA), with the goal of:
    • including test parameters for 5G equipment operating in millimeter waves ( Frequency Range 2: 24.25-52.6 GHz); 
    • and updating normative references to the requirements for version 16.6.0 of the 3GPP release 16.
    • The public consultation is open and will receive comments until September 25, 2021.
